One arm shifts, hooking around Adrienne's waist, and then extends her other, in front of them. She pushes it out at a right angle, then balls her fist to make all those corded muscles of her arm stand out, tensed and taught. ]
More than one way to skin a cat. Save punching for another day. Ain't always about hurting them, mostly about mitigating what you take. Try to always get your arm in the middle, if you can. It'll fucking hurt taking something there. But it ain't your throat, your chest, your head. Can survive it, but most people don't survive a knife in the eyeball.
[ The proof is there of her advice, that she does live by it. Her arms have more than enough scars, dug in across the outside of her forearm, combined with the odd burn and teeth marks that litter from wrist to elbow. ]

[ Just to make sure it isn't too careful, too soft, isn't treating her too much with kit gloves - she leans down, and finds the top of Adrienne's ear to nip. Not hard, no more than an annoyance. ]
( there's a light noise of complaint at the nip but if anything adrienne nuzzles in more rather than moving away )
Life can be a shitty enough fight. Sometimes... we need people to remind us we don't need to fight.
( or that there's something else. there's a sentiment that she's not worded well, that there are other things to do, reasons to survive than fight, that letting people be there is good. like odessa nudged on her )
[ She can't handle quite that honesty. Can't handle quite that emotion. Huffs something like amusement, something like fond, pulling in the corners of her mouth and -]

[The frankly dorky grin on her face says the truth of it, maybe she doesn't mind it so much. ]
[ There is a clumsiness, there, the sweetness of it, the integrity of it, and she fumbles. Her hands reached up to tuck Adrienne's hair back a little, careful in a particular way for her bigger hands, always so aware of the difference of her size to everyone else. ]
